Today was our last day at the Pine Ridge Retreat Center. We all woke up around 7:00, and were ready to leave by 8:45. We arrived at Floyd and Natalies’ house and prepared breakfast. At 11:00 we drove to Lakota Solar (Red Cloud Renewable Energy Center). There we worked on multiple projects including painting banners and construction. We made banners for the Keystone Pipeline protest in Pine Ridge, and the protest against the coal companies on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation. Two of the men also spent time working on a construction project in a new community building at the energy center. The remainder of the day was spent at Floyd and Natalies’ cooking dinner and learning more about the Lakota culture.
