We arrived yesterday and made our way to Boulder by the early afternoon. For the most part, our travel to Colorado was uneventful – though there was an interesting ‘jerk’ bug that some of the Delta flight attendants seemed to be struggling with. After hitting the ground in Denver, we hopped on a bus to Boulder and headed over to our ‘zero-waste hotel’, the Boulder Outlook (it may be the only one around)! This place is pretty unique: free bike use, composting, lots of indoor plants, and fake boulders to climb.
In Boulder, a lot of us struggled with altitude – some got headaches, many were dehydrated and queasy. Luckily, we got to pack it in pretty early and get some extra zzz’s. We hope today starts with fresh group ready to make the drive over to Pine Ridge.
Also, a big shout-out to Richard Blomgren who provided us with an awesome pizza dinner! To quote Trey Jones, “this is just what I needed.” We appreciate it Richard! Many of us felt better after an actual meal 😀
